- Saturday: Judging day!
On Saturday I woke up at 6:30 am and started to prepare myself for the hectic day, Then I waited until Becca got home from babysitting the neighbors and we got started. First we picked the vegetables, then we chose what vegetables went to fair which ones that looked alike, same size etc. blahblahblah . . . we do that for each vegetable that's 11 times!!!!! Plus we have to do the market basket.
Finally we loaded everything into the van and off we go!!! Time to face the judges!!! It took about 4 and a half to 5 hours to get all 30 of my non-animal projects judged. After everything is judged we get to go home and relax until the next day, or so we thought. When we got home it turns out that Dad had picked all three rows of the beans so we got to snap beans when we got home.
- Sunday: Taking animals to the fair grounds!
We would usually go to church but since we had the beans snapped we had to can them so we got to listen to the canner rattle all day instead. That evening we had to take the animals into the fair grounds and volunteer at the pizza and pop stand!!! So we loaded up the 9 rabbits and 7 chickens and took off! We got there, unloaded the rabbits, put the chickens in their cages and started over to the pizza and pop stand. We volunteered there for an hour and a half then we got to go home!!!!!
- Monday: Dog Show, Fashion Show
We got to the fair grounds at about 7:45am and checked in our dogs for the show. We went and got our show numbers, pinned them on our arms and waited for the show to start. We did run over to the bunny barn and chicken barn to do chores while mom held the dogs in the South Arena for us. The show started at 9:15am and ended at 3:00pm - that was a long day for the dogs! I received 3rd in obedience, 3rd in agility, and Reserve Champion in showmanship -although I had won it last year so I couldn't win it again this year so I did as good as I could. At 5:00pm we had the fashion show - that's always a drag we have to walk across the stage and model an outfit. I'm not one to have all of the attention pointed at me so I don't really enjoy that part of the fair so much. After that we hung around for the queen contest - that's always alot of fun to watch. We FINALLY got to go home after that.
- Tuesday: Dog Show, Pet Show, Share the Fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You might be asking why is there another dog show? Well, now we have the rally class. Guess what?!?!?!? I won Champion Junior Rally Class!!!!!!! I received a trophy and everything for it! It was cool!!!!!!!! I also had the pet show at the same time, I received a purple ribbon for my rabbit.
Later on that day Becca and I had Share the Fun!!!!!!!! We did an Irish Step Dance called Battle of the Sisters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was SOOOOOOOOOOOO much FUN!!!!!!!!!! We were selected to go the Iowa State Fair and perform it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!
- Wednesday: Rabbit show!!!!!!!!
The rabbit show is always alot of fun!!!!! We always have a good time hanging out during it, we tend to chose someone to poke fun at and this time it was Lee. He stuck his rabbit up his shirt and it would pop out his neckhole or arm hole it was sooo funny!!!! I received a blue and 1st place senior doe Holland Lop but didn't receive best of breed and a red for fur because she was shedding.
- Thursday: NOTHING!!!!!!!!!HANGING OUT!!!!!!!!HAVING FUN!!!!!!!!!!
That says it all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Although we did have awards and stuff but mostly we just hung out and had fun!!! I did hurt my ankle some how while moving. It its still a little stiff but it is better now!!!! Dad came with the white van at 5 and we loaded up the rabbits and chickens and he headed home with them. He came back at 8 and we loaded up our two vans worth of projects at 8pm. Oh and don't forget the fireworks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That was fun!!!!!!!
